Frequently Asked Questions
Job Matches

This category addresses common questions about how matching works and how to get better results in our system.

Q: How can I edit my Jobfox Profile?

A: First, login in to Jobfox. Then, from the main Get Hired Hub, scroll down all the way to the bottom and look for the "Edit Your Profile" link all the way on the right. From the edit page, you can click on any of the questions to edit the information you entered during the initial Profile creation. Simply choose the section of your profile you wish to edit and be sure to save any changes you make.

Q: How can I improve my match results?

A: Login to Jobfox. From the main Get Hired Hub, scroll down all the way to the bottom and look for the "Polish Your Profile" section all the way on the right. The system will make recommended adjustments based on the information you've entered.

The more detailed answer is that Jobfox matches you to the best jobs based on your skills, experience, education and desires. If you would like to improve your match results, you may want to revisit how you answered the skills questionnaire's associated with your work experiences in your Suitability Profile. You may also wish to edit other key information in your Suitability Profile, for example, if you chose to see only jobs within a 5 mile radius of your zip code, expanding your commuting radius to 20 miles may improve your match results. Also, check to make sure you selected the right Profession to reflect your skills and experience. For example, If your experience is in sales and you sell database software applications, make sure you select the Sales Profession instead of Information Technology.

Q: How can I tell how well I match to a job?

A: Login to Jobfox. From the main Get Hired Hub, click on the "View all jobs" link. When you click on the job title of any job on your match list, you will be able to maximize the bottom section of the screen called the 'Suitability Profile'. This section will graphically display how your Suitability Profile matches to the ideal requirements for the job as provided by the employer. A green check indicated an exact match and a red 'x' indicates an area where you are not a match.

If you are seeing a red 'x' next to a skill you possess, you may not have selected it in the suitability profile creation process. To edit this, you can click 'Suitability Profile' and 'Your Background - Skills and Experience' to go in and edit your questionnaires for your various work experiences. If a job match displays skills that are not in our questionnaire, they may be skills that the employer has manually added as additional things they are looking for. Since you cannot select these in our questionnaire, Jobfox will scan your resume for them.

Q: How do I remain confidential when using Jobfox job fit matching?

A: We understand that most people would prefer to keep their job search from their current employer. With Jobfox, you have the ability to set your profile to invisible for any company that you specify. When creating your profile, simply provide us with your company's name and e-mail domain (the portion of text after the @ symbol in the company email addresses). It's as easy as that - your profile is then invisible to that company.

To make your active profile invisible to a specific employer, login to Jobfox, and from the main Get Hired Hub, scroll down all the way to the bottom and look for the "Edit Your Profile" link all the way on the right. Click on the link. Next, select 'What's the visibility of your suitability profile?' Click 'Add' and enter the Company Name and Domain as described above. Be sure to save changes by clicking the 'save' link to the right of your entry and then clicking the 'save changes' button. This will ensure that recruiters from the company indicated will not see you on their match lists and you will not see jobs from that company in your Jobs Inbox.

Q: How long does it take to see job matches?

A: You will see ranked, matching jobs instantly! Once you complete your job matching profile, Jobfox will present you with a list of jobs that meet your specific qualities and desires.

Q: Jobfox notified me about a job match that I cannot seem to find in my list of matches. Where is it?

A: If you cannot find the job, several things may have happened.

  1. The employer deactivated the job since we alerted you. They may have filled the position, put it on hold, taken it down to make changes etc.
  2. The employer may have made a drastic change to the job matching criteria. Jobfox may have alerted you to a new job match and then subsequently the employer may have added a mandatory requirement causing you to no longer match to the job. For instance, the employer may have posted the job looking for candidates with a minimum of a bachelors degree and then changed it to a minimum of a masters degree causing anyone who does not have a masters degree to no longer be a match.

Unfortunately in both of these cases, you are no longer a match for the job and will not be able to view it, submit intros etc. It is always possible that the employer will re-activate the job or change back any criteria that may have omitted you from the match list.

Q: What does the Suitability Rating mean?

A: Using a 5-star scale, based on our Mutual Suitability SystemTM, Jobfox matches you to the best fitting jobs considering your skills, education, desires, experience, etc. The suitability rating indicates how strongly you and the job fit with one another. The higher the rating, the better the fit. Our suitability checklist allows you to compare your suitability profile to the requirements of each of your matched jobs. You will always know how and why you match up to every position.

Q: What happens if I click the 'Delete' button on one of my job matches?

A: When you are reviewing detail on any of your job matches, you will see a button that says 'Delete'. This simply moves the job out of your match list and into your 'Deleted Jobs' list. You can see your deleted jobs by clicking on the "View Deleted Jobs" link at the top of your Matched Jobs list.

Q: What happens if I click the 'Delete This Employer' button on one of my job matches?

A: When you are reviewing detail on any of your job matches, you will see a button that says 'delete this employer'. This adds the company/employer to your invisibility list, meaning that they will not see you on the match list for any of their jobs and you will no longer see any jobs from that company on your match list. If you ever change your mind and would like to add them back, you can do so by accessing your invisibility settings (which appear just under the menu on the left side of match list).

Q: Will Jobfox take into account my willingness to relocate?

A: By indicating in your profile your willingness to relocate, you open up your profile to match to jobs outside of your local area where the employer has indicated willingness to consider candidates who will relocate.

Indicate willingness to relocate by logging into your account > Click on the 'Suitability Profile' link > Select 'Where would you like to work?'.

If you indicate willingness to relocate, you will be given a list of metro areas to indicate interest in. You will then be matched to suitable jobs in those markets where the employer has indicated a willingness to accept relocation candidates.
