What services does Jobfox provide to help me in my job search?
Jobfox provides you with trackable version of resume to alert you when employers view your resume. Jobfox also gives job seekers the ability to create and personalize a public My Jobfox Page (www.Jobfox.com/people/YourName) containing information about your desired work environment, skills and experience, work samples and more! In addition, you can create a job matching profile on Jobfox to instantly match, score and rank the best jobs for your unique skills. Jobfox provides multiple feedback options online, via email and text message so you’ll know when employers are viewing your resume, your Jobfox Page and your skills profile.
Why do you need my contact information?
Jobfox asks for your contact information for several reasons. While an email address is necessary in order for Jobfox to identify you with your account, you may also opt to provide telephone number, SMS information (text to a mobile device) and/or Instant Message information to enable potential employers to reach you via those methods. You can view your contact information with our confidentiality option.
Why does Jobfox ask for my Instant Messenger address?
Jobfox wants you to be reachable by employers how and when you prefer – via email, mobile device, land line, or even instant messaging (IM). IM is discreet and immediate, enabling candidates and employers to dramatically reduce the time it takes to connect with one another for an initial conversation. If you elect to use this feature, employers on Jobfox can see when you’re logged into your IM service such as AIM, and can open an IM dialog with you to begin the interview process. From this chat session you can indicate your interest and schedule a time to speak directly with the employer or to schedule an interview. You have the ability to control this feature. Only employers can see when candidates are online; candidates do not have the ability to see when employers are online. Only employers can start an IM session with candidates. Jobfox does not charge candidates for this feature.
Does my personal information really remain confidential?
Yes! Protecting your contact information is a vital part of Jobfox’s mission. Our optional Private or “Alias” feature allows your contact information to remain invisible to employers whose jobs you match to. This critical tool gives you peace of mind that your Jobfox matching profile will not be discovered by your present employer, headhunters, or unscrupulous individuals. You can decide whether to divulge your contact information on a request-only basis and only when you have been assured this information is being requested from an employer of interest to you. You will also be able to pre-approve top matching employers to view your contact information upon profile activation if you wish. Be sure to remove contact information from your resume before uploading it to your Jobfox Profile, and list your previous employers as confidential if you wish to keep hat information private along with your contact information.
If I use the Private/“Alias” feature, how does an employer contact me?
Employers indicate their interest in contacting an Alias job seeker after reviewing your Jobfox matching profile and resume. Jobfox will then alert you that your contact information is being requested by this specific employer. If you agree to release it, Jobfox will provide it to this employer only. If not, your contact information will remain anonymous to the employer requesting it. Jobfox will also allow you to pre-approve release of your information to any Jobfox employer – you are always in complete control!
In what locations does Jobfox have jobs?
Currently, Jobfox is matching job seekers to jobs with great companies across the US. The greatest volume of jobs on Jobfox is in the Washington DC, San Francisco Bay, Boston, and Atlanta metro areas. With our rapid adoption rate, Jobfox continues to expand to more cities. Today, employers can post jobs in all US zip codes. Job seekers who find they are in an area where Jobfox does not have a large number of job matches for them may still wish to take advantage of our trackable resume and My Jobfox Page features as we continue to expand geographically. Jobfox is not yet available internationally.
What is a trackable resume?
When you upload your resume to Jobfox, we immediately provide a trackable version that you can download from the Tracking Center. When employers view this version, you’ll get a text message alert on your mobile device, and Jobfox will record this viewing in your Tracking Center. Jobfox tracks views of your resume regardless of whether it’s been viewed by an employer on Jobfox, any other job site, or via email directly from you to an employer. Although Jobfox doesn’t charge you for these services, be sure to check your mobile device service agreement for text messaging charges.
Will Jobfox always be able to tell me when an employer views my trackable resume?
In many cases, Jobfox is able to tell you the name of the organization that has viewed your resume. If the name of the organization isn’t available, you may receive an indication as to the city and state of the employer’s location where your resume was viewed.
What format will me trackable resume be in?
In order to add tracking capability to your resume, you’ll need to upload it in Microsoft® Word® format. You will be able to download the trackable version of your resume that Jobfox will provide to you (also in MS Word format). The web address of to Your Jobfox Page (if you have created one) will be included in the document footer.
How do I create My Jobfox Page?
From your tracking center, click ‘Edit My Jobfox Page’ to begin customizing your personal page. You may wish to provide Your Jobfox Page link to employers, friends, and colleagues. Your Jobfox Page link is included in the footer of your track-able resume, and you will be able to turn your page on or off at any time.
How do I customize a url for My Jobfox Page?
You have the ability to semi-customize the url by entering in the last part of the string. For example, you may choose to enter your first initial and last name. You only have to enter the last part of the url. The first part (http://www.jobfox.com/people/) is already entered for you.
Do I have to complete every element of My Jobfox Page?
No. Features such as photo and My Work Type assessment are optional.
Can I make changes after I complete My Jobfox Page?
Absolutely. Feel free to make changes to Your Jobfox Page at any time by clicking the ‘Edit My Jobfox Page’ tab in your Tracking Center.
What do I do with all of the words in the 'My Dream Job Delivers' area of the My Jobfox Page?
Click on up to five of these words/phrases or enter you own, describing what’s important to you in your career. Each click on a word enlarges that word, until it returns to its original size. Click on the most important words to emphasize what’s most important to you in your career.
What is the Experience Map?
This is a visual representation of your skills and work experience. Edit your work experiences to add/change skills in your experience map. Change your emphasis profession if you have diverse work experience and would like to indicate which profession your Experience Map should default to. The map is interactive and provides additional detail to the viewer when clicking on skills or nodes. The map size and orientation can be changed with the movement of your mouse. Click on a skill to link it to a work sample or add a note.
What is My Work Type?
This optional section of the My Jobfox Page allows you to complete the Saville Focus Styles questionnaire. This questionnaire will tell you about your preferred leadership style, team and peer interactions, approach to managing change, and the work cultures that will maximize your potential. A $75 value, you can get your work type report FREE from Jobfox. A link to your full work type report will be available to those viewing your my Jobfox Page.
Why can’t I search directly for jobs on Jobfox?
Unlike online job boards, Jobfox’s Job Fit Matching Engine will match you to the best jobs based on the 10 Dimensions of a Great Job Fit. These 10 dimensions include your skills, experience, education and desires; like salary, travel, commute, etc. In order for Jobfox to match you to the best jobs for your skills, Jobfox first needs to identify your skills and then present you with the best jobs for your unique skillset.
What is Job Fit Matching?
Jobfox understands that no two people, jobs or companies are alike. In order to deliver the most relevant jobs for candidates, and in turn the best candidates for employers, we identified 10 Dimensions of a Good Job Fit and developed the technology to bring these dimensions together to intelligently match the best candidates with the best jobs at the best companies.
Why is Job Fit Matching better then job searching?
When you use an online job board to search for a job, you select keywords and the job board shows you every job in its database with those terms in its description, regardless of whether it is in the profession you are looking for or not. This is extremely inefficient and time consuming, often causing you to miss the best jobs while having to weed through jobs that have no relevance at all to your career goals. In contrast, with Jobfox’s unique job matching capability, Jobfox applies your unique qualities such as skills, experience, education, salary, travel, commute and more; and matches them to the best jobs for your unique background, skills, and desires. This is by far the best way to find your dream job! Why do I need to fill out a job matching profile?
Because Jobfox is not an online job database, job seekers are asked to complete an easy job matching profile so the Jobfox Matching Engine can match your individual traits and desires to the right and best job in the marketplace. In addition, we give you the opportunity to showcase your work, create a unique Experience Map, and tell employers a little about yourself and your dream job.
How long does it take to fill out a job matching profile?
This really depends on how many job experiences you are inputting, and what profession you’re in. Some professions are relatively narrowly defined, while others can be extremely diverse, taking a little more time to profile. You can expect to spend approximately 10-20 minutes per job experience entered. This time investment will most likely save you a lot of time in the long run, as you’ll be presented with the best jobs for your skills and experience, rather than forcing you to weed through scores of unrelated jobs.
How do I get to the next page/step in the job matching profile creation process?
If it appears that your screen is stuck or that clicking on ‘proceed to next step’ is not working for you, review the contents of the page to ensure that every field is completed. Please also ensure that date fields are entered in a mm/yyyy format.

How long does it take to see job matches?
You will see ranked, matching jobs instantly! Once you complete your job matching profile, Jobfox will present you with a list of jobs that meet your specific qualities and desires.
What kind of organizations post jobs on Jobfox?
Organizations of all industries and sizes post their jobs on Jobfox, knowing that they will find the best candidates. These organizations range from Fortune 500 to associations and start-ups.
How do I let a company know I am interested in a job?
Once you have completed the job matching profile and are matched to jobs, Jobfox will automatically present your profile (including your resume and My Jobfox Page link if you have provided them) on the match list of the employers for the jobs to which you match. Click on job titles from your own match list to view more information about each job. Click the ‘submit my profile’ link to notify the employer that you have viewed their job favorably. It is up to the employer to reach out to you directly using the contact information you provided if they would like to learn more about you.
How do I know when an employer has viewed my profile?
Jobfox eliminates the ‘black hole’ effect of traditional job boards by providing information in your tracking center about which employers have viewed your profile. You may also opt to set up text messaging for these alerts.
Do I need a resume?
Jobfox prompts all users to upload their resume. For some candidates this step is mandatory. Did you know that employers are 3.5 times more likely to look at your profile and contact you if they see you have a resume attached? It is highly recommended that you upload your resume.
Why do I have to create job matching profile if I have a resume?
Jobfox was founded to provide intelligent matching between qualified candidates and the best job openings. Jobfox’s Job Fit Matching Engine was developed to work on a specific set of questions tailored to specific professions. It’s the responses to these questions that go into Jobfox’s proprietary matching algorithm, not the text or keywords on a resume. While a resume can help complete your profile, it cannot be used to match you to the right job on Jobfox.
Why won’t my resume upload?
Currently Jobfox accepts documents in the following formats: Microsoft® Word® (.DOC), Corel® WordPerfect® (.WPD), Rich Text Format (.RTF), and Plain Text (.TXT). The file size must be less than 1MB. Job seekers wishing to remain confidential are reminded to remove any personal contact information from this file that you don't want to share with potential employers. You will be prompted when any employers wish to obtain your contact information, to which you may conceal or reveal your identity at your choice. If you cannot upload your resume, please contact our customer service department at
customerservice@jobfox.com and they can either help you upload it or upload it for you.
How do I keep my current employer from finding me on Jobfox??

The enhanced privacy functionality gives you peace of mind that Your Jobfox Page will not be discovered by your present employer or unscrupulous individuals. Our optional private or “alias” feature allows you to decide which information to protect, including name and present job. You can then decide whether to divulge your contact information on a request-only basis and only when you have been assured this information is being requested from an employer of interest. As soon as you initially activate your job matching profile, we will give you the option of pre-approving your top employer matches to see your contact information.
What does the match score mean?
Using a 10 point scale, based on the “10 Dimensions of a Good Job Fit,” Jobfox matches you to the best fitting job based on your skills, education, desires, experience, etc. The job match score indicates how strong you fit to any one job. The higher the score, the better fit you are for the position based on your job matching profile. Through our “Match Comparison” functionality, you can also compare each of your 10 Dimensions to the requirements of each job you matched to. You will always know how and why you match up to every position.
How am I updated about new job matches and employer views??
You choose when you want Jobfox to notify you about your matches, based on the match score. You can you can set up your preferences to notify you of new matches based on a score threshold you set. Jobfox can also be set to alert you when employers view your profile or view it favorably and/or when employers forward your profile. Jobfox supports alerts via email and SMS (text to a mobile device).
How do I know my job matches are still available?
Jobfox will automatically notify you, via email when a job you are pursuing is no longer available.
Can I indicate willingness to relocate in my job matching profile?
Yes. You can either enter a general willingness to relocate in your profile or, instead of entering you current zip code in your contact information, simply use a zip code from the area to which you would like to relocate.
What does the bullseye icon mean next to my job matches?
This indicates that the job is located within your desired commuting radius.
How do I improve my match results?
Jobfox matches you to the best jobs for you based on how you select your skills, experience, education and desires. If you would like to improve your match results, you may want to revisit how you answered your questions. Example: If you chose to see only jobs within a 5 mile radius of your zip code, expanding your commuting radius to 20 miles may improve your match results. Also, check to make sure you selected the right Profession to reflect your skills and experience. Example: If your experience is in sales and you sell database software applications, make sure you select the Sales Profession instead of Information Technology.
