Market10 Research Demonstrates Unique Candidate Pool vs. Monster and CareerBuilder

McLean, Va. (January 8, 2007) - Market10™, the revolutionary online job marketplace, today announced the results of its job seeker/candidate pool research—demonstrating to recruiters its access to top candidates not available on Monster or CareerBuilder.

The research was conducted using a candidate pool of 200 job seekers from November 15 to December 31. MarketInk, a provider of Internet market research since 1998, originated the research on Market10’s behalf. Peter Weddle, the CEO of Weddle’s - the leading publisher of print guides to career success online and off, used a random subset of the same candidate pool to confirm the results.

MarketInk found the Market10 candidate pool to be 80% unique versus Monster and 85% unique when compared to candidates on CareerBuilder. Weddle found “somewhere between 80-90% of the candidates enrolled at Market10 appear to be unique versus the candidate pools on Monster and CareerBuilder.”

Recruiting & Unique Candidates
According to Weddle, many job boards provide access to the employment credentials of some job seekers “but the key to successful recruiting is a connection to ‘unique candidates.’ These individuals have restricted the visibility of their credentials on the Web, usually by posting them at a single site. The ability to source them, therefore, gives employers and recruiters more choice, and in many cases, better options in their selection of new hires.”

Weddle added, “Market10’s recent analysis of traffic to its site seems to confirm that it is providing access to candidates who are not available at other employment sites. Based on a limited sample, it appears that very few of the individuals who completed a profile on the Market10 site also posted a resume or profile at either Monster or CareerBuilder.com. Certainly, they could have posted their credentials at other job boards, but if they had, it seems likely they would also have posted them at one or both of these sites.”

Weddle said its unclear why such a distinction occurs. “It may be that those who invest the thirty minutes or so required to complete the Market10 profile feel a stronger allegiance to the site. Or, they may have been persuaded that the profile, itself, will provide them with a better opportunity match than traditional text-based searches of resumes. Whatever the reason, the finding suggests that Market10 provides access to a population of ‘unique candidates’ that expands the reach of employers and recruiters and, thus, the caliber of talent they are able to recruit.”

Rob McGovern, the Chairman & CEO of Market10, builds on Peter Weddle’s uniqueness theory. “We believe our candidates are the most desirable ones in the market. Through our patent-pending matching technology, we are the only online recruiting site that provides a precise match between candidates and jobs.” McGovern emphasizes, “Our ability to match top talent with the best employer has created a groundswell of traffic to our second generation career site. Through viral word of mouth, top talent candidates are telling their friends and family about their positive experiences, and telling them to do the same.”

Recruiters also confirm that Market10 offers unique and high-caliber candidates. Pat Pape, the Senior Manager of Recruiting at Sybase, Inc. said, "We use a number of online recruiting resources but we find Market10 attracts many well qualified candidates who are not available on the recruiting databases (Monster, CareerBullder etc.). The (Market10) candidates are much more selective in their job inquiries."
