authorization information.

Q: How can I improve my match
results?
A: The more detailed answer is that
Jobfox matches you to the best jobs based on your skills, experience, education
and desires. If you would like to improve your match results, you may want to
revisit how you answered the skills questionnaire associated with your work
experiences in your ResumePal. You may also wish to edit other key information
in your ResumePal.
First take a look at the jobs that
you being matched to and go through this checklist
-
Have I selected the profession that most accurately reflects my skills and
experience? For example, if your experience is in sales and you sell database
software applications, make sure you select a profession in Sales instead of
Computer Engineering and Information Technology.
-
Is your salary requirement in line with your experience level?
-
Have you completed the education section?
-
Have you included all relevant work experience?
To modify any of the above areas:
- Login to Jobfox
- From the top menu bar click on My ResumePal
- Click "edit" next to the area that you would like to modify
- Make sure you save any changes that you have made
Q: How can I tell how well I match to a job?
A: Log into your Jobfox account. Select
"Jobs" from the top menu bar. There you will see 2 tabs:
-
Jobs from Jobfox - Jobs that are matched to your ResumePal profession and skills
-
Jobs from Across the Web - Jobs from other sites matching to your ResumePal profession
Select "Jobs from Jobfox". There will be 3 view selections--
-
Top Jobs - the jobs you are best matched to
-
New Jobs - new jobs that have been posted in the past 7-30 days
-
Deleted Jobs Only - the jobs on Jobfox that you have chosen to remove
When you click on the job title of any job on your match list, you
will be able to maximize the bottom section of the screen called the
'Suitability Checklist'. This section will graphically display how your
ResumePal matches to the ideal requirements for the job as provided by the
employer. A green check will indicate an exact match to a specific requirement.
If you do not see a green check next to a skill you possess, you may not have
selected it in the ResumePal creation process. To edit this, you can click on My
ResumePal in the top menu bar and edit your questionnaires for your various work
experiences. If a job match displays skills that are not in our questionnaire,
they may be skills that the employer has manually added as additional things
they are looking for. Since you cannot select these in our questionnaire, Jobfox
will scan your resume for them.
Q: Why am I seeing jobs outside of my desired location?
A: Jobfox will show you all matching jobs in the market that you
are located. Jobs that are within your desired location with be indicated by a
"bulls eye" icon.
Q: How do I remain confidential when using Jobfox
job fit matching?
A: We understand that most
people would prefer to keep their job search from their current employer. With
Jobfox, you have the ability to set your ResumePal to invisible for any company
that you specify. When creating your ResumePal, simply provide us with your
company's name and e-mail domain (the portion of text after the @ symbol in the
company email addresses). It's as easy as that - your profile is then invisible
to that company.
To make your active profile invisible to a specific employer:
- Log into your Jobfox Account
- Click "My ResumePal" from the top menu bar
- Click "Edit Recruiter Access to My ResumePal"
- Click "Add" and enter the company name and domain as described
above
- Click "Save Changes"
This well ensure that recruiters from the company indicated will
not see you on their match lists and you will not see jobs from that company in
your "Jobs from Jobfox" inbox
Q: How long does it take to see job matches?
A: You will see ranked,
matching jobs instantly! Once you complete your ResumePal, Jobfox will present
you with a list of jobs that meet your specific qualities and desires.
Q: Jobfox notified me about a job match that I
cannot seem to find in my list of matches. Where is it?
A: If you cannot find the
job, several things may have happened:
- The employer deactivated the job since we alerted you. They may have filled the
position, put it on hold, taken it down to make changes etc.
- The employer may have made a drastic change to the job matching criteria. Jobfox
may have alerted you to a new job match and then subsequently the employer may
have added a mandatory requirement causing you to no longer match to the job.
For instance, the employer may have posted the job looking for candidates with a
minimum of a bachelor's degree and then changed it to a minimum of a master's
degree causing anyone who does not have a masters degree to no longer be a
match.
Unfortunately in both of these cases, you are no longer a match
for the job and will not be able to view it, or apply to it. It is always
possible that the employer will re-activate the job or change back any criteria
that may have omitted you from the match list.
Q: I attempted to apply to a job and was directed to a page
that stated the job is no longer available. What happened?
A: Jobfox diligently and consistently
reviews job listings on our site in order to keep them current, and takes a number of
steps to ensure the integrity of our jobs, including:
- Validating that a job is real at the time of initial posting
- Running daily programs against many direct employer sites validating a job is
still available
- Building in safeguards to the process by having dedicated staffers hand validate
jobs on a regular basis
That said, we fully understand how frustrating it can be for users when our
listings do not appear on an employer's website. Ensuring every job is valid at
any given moment in time is difficult for all job-related sites - including
Jobfox. Reasons a job on Jobfox may not appear on the employer's website range
from the company's site itself being out of date (particularly common with
smaller firms lacking resources to regularly update site) to the time lag that
occurs between when a job is removed and when Jobfox is notified. And in some
cases companies don't post every available vacancy on their website.
Jobfox is always striving to do better, and you have our commitment that
we will always to our very best to ensure the validity of jobs you access on our
site.
Q: What happens if I click the
'Delete' button on one of my job matches?
A: When you are reviewing
detail on any of your job matches, you will see a button that says 'Delete'.
This simply moves the job out of your match list and into your 'Deleted Jobs
Only' list. You can see your deleted jobs by clicking on the "Jobs" tab in the
top menu bar and click on the "Deleted Jobs Only" link.
Q: What happens if I click the 'Delete This
Employer' button on one of my job matches?
A: When you are reviewing
detail on any of your job matches, you will see a button that says 'delete this
employer'. This adds the company/employer to your invisibility list, meaning
that they will not see you on the match list for any of their jobs and you will
no longer see any jobs from that company on your match list. If you ever change
your mind and would like to add them back, you can do so by accessing your
invisibility settings in your ResumePal.
Q: Will Jobfox take into account my willingness to
relocate?
A: By indicating in your
profile your willingness to relocate, you open up your profile to match to jobs
outside of your local area where the employer has indicated willingness to
consider candidates who will relocate. Indicate willingness to relocate by logging into your account:
- Click on the 'My ResumePal' tab
- Edit 'Where would you like to work'.
If you indicate willingness to relocate, you will be given a list
of metro areas to indicate interest in. You will then be matched to suitable
jobs in those markets where the employer has indicated a willingness to accept
relocation candidates.
Q: Why can't I submit a cover letter with a Jobfox Application?
A: When applying to jobs
through Jobfox.com you do not need one. Jobfox presents
you to employers with your resume and your ResumePal, which provides a very
detailed picture of your skills and experience. Cover letters that are not
customized for each job application provide much less detail about your skills
and experience.
